I will consider less than a movement a day as symptomatic of a
malfunctionning colon.

cascara is a tree growing wild in the pacific North west forests .they were
used by the native as a medecine and were using the bark , the berries and
may be the leaves . Your tea is probably the bark..
there is a very potent intestinal regulator called "Cassia fistula ".it is a
leguminous tree producing a one foot long bean with disks of black pulp
surronding the seeds . It is a used by ayurvedic medecine for a very long
time.
The raw sweet pulp is sucked out of the cellulose disk separating the
seeds ( 2 or 3 disks is enough to start, more and you will have to run to
the toilet ) .
The peoples eating raw by instinct love the taste ,when the medecine is
needed by the body and it becomes very repulsive when not needed.
It is not available commercially but can direct you to a source if
interested.
