A report from Europe, the continent of food freedom :-)

Here in Sweden horse meat is usually eaten on sandwiches, thin slices of
smoked ham-like meat. Most people know it is horse meat, but don't think
very much on that fact. It is called "hamburger meat". Horse meat is
also embedded in some sausages. But at some places You can buy pure fresh
horse meat as steaks and similar cuts. Few people eat it, but it tastes
ok. It is rather dark, like game meat. It is usually cheaper than beef.
But no one brings up horses for the meat, so the meat is usually from old
racing horses and not very tender. (We have the same with swedish beef,
it is mostly from ex milk cows.)
