If you're applying Aristotle's definition of humans as rational animals, I 
might be inclined to agree.

Non-human beings are very rational too - their activities/decisions arise 
purely in line for their survival. Perhaps that is the underlying  basis of 
our sense of rationality as well?Only we have elevated it to a higher (more 
complex) level.
