One thing I have learned on this list is that plenty of people
eat raw potatoes, although I guess you have to be careful about
how you do it.  I believe the Peruvian Indians had a technique
for drying potatoes to be used as a portable food for journeys.

I have tried eating raw potatoes myself, and I can't say that I
enjoyed them much.
