That is an example of the great confusion that  linear anlytical thinking
bring about .

What is descibed here,  is the "best " ( the worse for the matter) scenario

 I planted many seeds in the earth for many years . Unless there is  many
Other conditions met ( other than the first fondamental cause of sowing) the
chances for the seed to become a mature plant are meager. Many things can
happen during the unrolling of genetic expectation.
We had to confront this great fallacy of the " expecting  the wrost "
attitude  that is the commerce of modern medecine at the birth of my son.
His mother got diagnosed having contracted toxoplasmosis ( a protozoare)
during pregnancy, just few weeks before birth.
We went to listen to one of the most educated world expert on toxoplasmosis
( the city close to us had the biggest outbreak in the world,   at one time,
of pregnant women contracting toxo . related to a water supply infected by
cougar poo) .
He was embarrassed to admit that they never ask themselves if the parasite
was transmissible thru breast milk. There was many   other questions of that
kind that have not been researched because it is outside of the normal
paragdime.

When i asked when and  what,  was the result of the last study showing the
outcome of untreated cases, the answer was:
It was  in 52 in netherland ( heavy dairy consumers and lowest european
seafoods eaters) the outcome was that lesss than 50 percent of infected
mothers had babies developping symptoms.
There was no newer studies because the protocol is to treat automatically
all babies born in that condition since that time with 2 powerfull
antimalarian antibiotic every day for one year.
So nobody really have a chance to know what happens if you don't give in the
fear.
the expert was our chance because he was a researcher and was not dealing
with patients so we could get him to recognise some flaw in their usual
reasonning.
 the second specialist was a pediatrician and for him taking the risk of not
treating was insane .He had too much of himself involved in the whole drama
to be open .
We din't treat  our son  who was born at home without midwifes ( who refused
to endorse the birth out of an hospital like it was requested by everybody )
without defects ( brain damage, and other goodies are the expected outcome)
and still didn't show any sign of mental retardation  or blindness ( as
expected in milder cases).
From a pregnant woman who got in contact with  the parasite to the  possible
symptoms of a baby born in that situation there is a lot of necessarry
conditions .that could be foreseen in those questions.
How the pregnant woman immunologically  reacted to the "infestation"?
Did the foetus got infested?
if infested , did the foetus encysted eggs in the nervous system?
what conditions thoses cysts need,  to give birth to a new generation of
parasites?
what is the chance of those parasites to spread and  to do noticable damages
in the nervous system ?
even
Is the full working brain necessarry for happiness.?
Are blind peoples inferiors in  some sort that we need to compromise the
immune system of many babies to make sure there is no risk  ?
etc...

For doctors , i lost my mind by taking the decision to not give in the fear
but for us we gain strengh  faith and joy.
