You got me.  I was thinking "safe" rather than paleo.  You're right, the
odds of cavefolk pressing flax seeds for oil are probably pretty slim.
 Sort of like cracking open those crazy macadamia nuts!

Uh, pardon my ignorance, but how are you getting oil out of raw fish?

I'm hard pressed to see my ancestors eating flax seeds. If they did, they
wouldn't have been digested, but would have passed right through. I
consider it to be a fad. I'd rather get my oils from raw nuts and raw fish.
