<snip>However, the best way for me to trigger a migraine attack is to drink
1-2 glasses of wine in the evening. The next day when I wake up, I'm not
hung-over but feel moderately sluggish. Over the next 3-4 hours a migraine
attack develops. Enyone else have this experience, that going paleo has
increased your sensitivity to alcohol?<snip>
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Through the years I have heard that wine can be a trigger for headaches.
There is something in it the experts say cause the headache, but I can't
remember what it is.  If I remember right, cheese might be another item I
have heard of also.
My father, daughter, sister, and myself, suffer from migraines.  My father
(70 years old) is totally convinced that different food and drink items can
trigger migraines.  He stays away from some foods, and is particularly
careful in restaurants.  My daughter on the other hand (24 years old) thinks
we are nuts in this belief, and feels it is genetic since it does seem to
run in our family. (she's got years to learn yet *g*)
Like my father, I believe that what we ingest is causing the majority of the
headaches.  If we are eating Paleo, we are not ingesting the toxic foods
that are causing the migraines.  I notice that as soon as I stray off Paleo
and eat grains and sugars etc, then I start experiencing more headaches and
an overall increase in physical pain and fatigue.
I have been having trouble lately trying to find different things to eat,
some variety would be nice.  I tend to eat the same items all the time.
Sincerely,
Lynn
