Hi Mary,

Metamucil *is* psyllium husk. You can get it plain or in flavors - orange,
and maybe mint. It's indigistible fiber, and whether you're constipated  or
have diarrhea, it will work to restore a fluid balance in the stool. It
soaks up water, thereby loosening up a constipated stool or tightening up a
diarrheal one. Don't know if psyllium is considered paleo or not, but I
wouldn't think chronic constipation is healthy and that should take
priority in my opinion.
