With their newfound freedom, they started getting jobs as telemarketers,
used-car salesmen, politicians, and tele-evangelists. Armed with spending
money, they learned to shop, buy white leisure suits, wear a plethora of
gold chains, and start buying Vanilla Ice CDs.

But under the layers of polyester, aztec symbol necklaces, and bushels of
chest hair, you'll find the pond scum still rising to the surface...
Evolutionary ladder, my eye!
