Susan Carmack said she had/thought she had>...food poisoning... >I'm there
right now. Does anyone have a natural remedy for stomach >pains/gas/chest
pains/heartburn/cramps?

>Paleopoisoned,Susan, you might want to buy some activated charcoal powder
or capsules from a health food store or pharmacy. Charcoal can absorb many,
many times it's weight in poisons/toxins. The book "Charcola: Startling
New Facts About the World's Most Powerful Clincial Adsorbent" (NewLifestyle
Books, © 1988) by Agatha Thrash, M.D. and Calvin Thrash, M.D. tells you all
about how it works and what it can do. Apparently charcoal has been used to
treat drug overdoses, toxic accidents (poisonous mushroom ingestion),
diarrhea, intestinal gas, snake bites, and more. I don't know how
up-to-date this phone # is but I found it on the back of the book: (205)
855-2380 or the address from their printing: Address: Family Health
Publications, 8777 E. Musgrove Hwy., Sunfield, MI 48890).

We used to keep a steady supply of edible, activated charcoal on hand when
we were heavily into beans and grains; it was one of our exorcism
rituals.... You can mix a teaspoon or two of the powder into a cup of water;
it's black; looks funny; but you can get it down pretty easily. It's bland.
The capsules can be taken with water, but you might have to take more than
a few.... It's been quite a while since I've taken it.

Btw: there'a great yoga pose.... called the "wind relieving pose", do you
know it? (Seriously! I didn't make it up.... it's a real yoga pose,
invented to get the rice and bean residuals out!) If you don't know this
"pose", e-mail me and I'll do my best to describe it in writing. It can be
pretty effective with some deep breathing! :)

Best of success.....
RACHEL
