I'm sure the raw meat/e.coli/salmonella topic is becoming old hat for
some... but before we finishing beating a dead horse....We'd like to add
some more food for thought.

1) The following quote comes from page 73 of Understanding Nutrition", by
Whitney and Rolfes, sixth edition. It's a standard college nutrition
textbook. "Cells in the stomach secrete gastic juice, a mixture of water,
enzymes, and hydrochloric acid.  The acid is so strong that it uncoils
proteins and thus makes them available for digestion.  Note that the acidity
of gastric juices registers below '2' on the pH scale---stronger than
vinegar.  The strong acidity of the stomach prevents bacterial growth and
ills most bacteria that enter the body with food."   Is the cure to
strengthen the body or to try to remove all possible bacteria in our lives?

2) If someone gets a bacterial infection, it could be a sign that they are
not producing enough HCL.  A high carb, low-protein diet and a lack of
adequate (usable) zinc in the diet can set the stage for this.  Zinc
deficiency is very common in America, particulary among those who consume a
lot of sugar, eat very little red meat, or follow near-veg, or vegetarian,
vegan diets.   One can change the make up of one's digestive secretions and
acid/pH level by changing what one eats.  Carnivores naturally secrete HCL
en masse.

3)  Jewish (kosher) dietary laws may carry more validity than many  of
previously realized.  The injunction against eating meat foods with milk
foods is backed up by science (although few scientists probably realize
it!).  Milk inactivates stomach acids.  A meal of meat + cheese or a milk
shake stimulates an alkaline rather than acid stomach condition, which is
just waht the bacteria want to feed on.  Many people dining in public
eateries eat meat + milk combinations, knowingly or unknowling. Hmmmm!

4)  A microbe cannot live unless is has a favorable environment on which to
feed. Public food poisonings are almost invariably occuring in restaurants
or other eating establishments in which people are consuming food for
microbes/junk food:  soda, shakes, fries, white bread, cookies, ice cream.
They are not "just" eating meat.

5)  It is possible that the cooking of meat, which changes the food
chemically, and gives it a dramatically different flavor, texture, and
appearance, may actualy disguise signs of spoilage..... If you have every
seen or felt poultry or fish that was slimy or off, you know that if it s
cooked, those markers are absent.  Perhaps we need to all learn to pay
closer attention to what we are eating while we are eating it... to avoid
harm.

6) Dr. Francis Pottengers extensive studies on cats demonstrated that a diet
of all cooked foods lead to deleterious organic changes in the actual shape,
color, size, and health of the cats.  You have to see the pictures... of the
exerior and the internal organs the cooked food cats and the raw food
cats....they are amazing!  His book can be purchased from the Price
Pottenger Nutrition Foundation.  If a cat's organs can be changed for the
worse on a diet of all cooked foods, is it not possible that the same might
bo so for humans?

7)  If someone doesn't want to eat RAW meat and thinks it's dangerous, they
don't have to eat it.  However, those of us why want to should have the
right.  What we don't want is people telling us we can't eat raw meat (or
raw vegetables, or raw fruit or raw fat) in the name of "protection"!  Mass
fear = Mass Hysteria = Cries for Protection = Unconstitutional Laws!  We
used to have constitutional rights.  Many of our First Amendment rights, for
example, have been eroded.  Many more INALIENABLE right may soon be usurped.


Widespread irradiation of meat foods is just around the corner.  This would
force all of us to eat "wrecked" or "denatured" meat.  Proteins would be
damaged, enzymes, and as yet unidentified co-factors would be destroyed or
restructured in perhaps toxic ways.   And yet, irradiation is not the
solution to any food poisoning problem.  I'll post a fascinating article on
this (which will appear in the meat chapter of my book).  Perhaps all of you
could pass the article along to the people you buy meat from; some may be
wise enough to heed the advice in it. (We don't doubt that e. coli exists;
we just ask why it is that so many people are exposed to it and to
salmonella and flu viruses.... and yet not everyone becomes sick on
exposure?! And, we ask that those with the Mass Hysteria Mindset not poison
the meat for the rest of us by demanding sterilized meat!  E-mail us
privately if you simply want to second the motion!
