We like to stuff deglet noor dates with a couple of toasted blanched
almonds, and to make them even more candylike, put them in the food
dehydrator for a while. (before stuffing them). These are a great holiday
treat, especially if you are going to have guests who expect
candy/pie/dessert. When I eat these, I sit down with a few dates and a small
bowl full of toasted blanched almonds, and keep the dates going a long time
while I finish the almonds. We buy Pavich organic dates (and raisins,
