Mary,

I worked professionally with hundreds, even thousands, of dentists in
some earlier work.

Many dentists don't get regular cleanings. What does that tell you? In
fact, I don't know of many dentists who do go for their "recall" visits
regularly.

As for the cleaning/scraping, I am sure that with a paleo or low carb
diet, the plaque build-up isn't as threatening. The basic idea is to get
plaque scraped off that would otherwise cause continual acidic
irritation to the jaw bone and which unchecked leads to disintegration
of the jawbone, loss of the teeth due to this bone loss, etc.

But on LC or paleo, how necessary is this? Dunno. ANyone have info on
teeth of HGs?
