When I have fallen off the wagon, I have found that the easiest
way back is first to implement the "Life Without Bread" program
of 72g of carbs -- any carbs -- per day. This is not too
restrictive, and brings immediate results, for me at least, in
terms of how I feel. When I am stabilized on that program, I can
more easily begin to implement further paleo restrictions.

I find that the carb intake point that I eventually settle into
is a bit lower, about 60g/day, but it varies. Choosing paleo
over nonpaleo foods at this carb intake level doesn't make any
discernible difference to how I feel (i.e., it wouldn't matter if
I got my 60 or 72g from pears (paleo) or rice (nonpaleo)); I do
it only to maximize my micronutrient intake, which is generally
better on paleo carb sources.
