In fact, blessed release.

I planted a Cornelian cherry dogwood here in my rented yard
about five years ago, and it's a fine big tree now, with lots
of the little fruits. I like them when they are almost starting
to dry on the bush, and are soft and plumlike. Quite delicious.

Thanks for sharing your experiences in Central Park. We can
forage for blackberries here, and wild apples, and rose hips
in the winter, from the native dog roses. Also hawthorns are
plentiful. Greens, of course. Not much purslane but lots of
chickweed. I try to keep the backyard in a state where good
greens volunteer, like Red Russian kale, Italian parsley, lovage,
and nasturtiums.
