Having just finished a college course on brain function, it is somewhat
suspected that Parkinsons is among a group of brain syndromes that has an
autoimmune aspect (like PANDAs, OCD, Syndenham's chorea, etc.) BUT it is
unclear what starts the process. In Parkinsons the dopaminergic neurons of
the Substantia Nigra are dying and this causes dysfunction of movement. There
is a hereditary link and possibly an environmental toxin link, but there is
much to learn.

I am experimenting with Paleo because of MS - which again has autoimmune
aspects but no clear connection to diet. Since I have remained virtually
stable for almost two years regardless of diet, it is hard to say if PF diet
(last few months) has any effect.

I do have a question for the list, though -- my skin is NOT HAPPY! My pores
seem enormous and my skin texture is rougher than normal since eating all this
meat. My diet was mainly fish-based before this experiment. Anyone have
similar experiences or a suggestion?

Holly
