As the wife of a dentist, I have found the dental discussion interesting.
Just make sure you find a dentist who is willing to take the time to discuss
options with you. There are advantages and disadvantages to all types of
dental work. For example, the white or composite fillings do not contain
mercury but are harder than your teeth and can wear down the surfaces
opposite the filling. There are lots of dentists out there that won't take
the time to explain things but then again, there are lots of great ones out
there. My husband will schedule a consultation appointment for patients at
no charge, and has the philosophy of less is better when it comes to work in
the mouth. Luckily, I'm married to one of the good ones ; )
