I suggest that you try the "Rendesvous" of the NMLRA. People dress and
live out 19th century life. They often include a buffalo roast and the
like. It is not paleo, but a lot of the emphasis is on American
Indians. They usually have open days at the rendesvous for newcomers
and visitors, who do not have to be in period costume. Thry the

I have heard about primitive events in Europe, Austalia too, usually
archery or blackpowder gun related. Good places to hook up with like
minded people.
