Actually, it's not that bad for "paleo." I usually get a "Double Quarter
Pounder" without cheese, and eat it without the bun. True, the ketchup,
mustard, and pickles (which I usually eat) are not quite paleo, but they
can easily be omitted. It works out to a quick meal of nearly 1/2 pound
of not-too-lean beef. It hardly "gourmet," but it's edible, relatively
cheap (for a "restaurant" meal), and it's fast.

Personally, I prefer the Burger King "Double Whopper" (also without
cheese). Their cooking method makes the meat more tasty, and you can get
around their "efficient" handling methods (pre-cooking, holding, and
microwaving the meat) by ordering "off the broiler (fresh cooked) and "no
microwave." This also has the same minor paleo conflict in the form of
ketchup, mayonnaise, and pickles (which can, of course, be omitted), but
it also comes with a little "salad" of lettuce, tomato, and onion.

Either one of these makes an adequate lunch or light dinner for an
approximate cost of $3. Without the bun they fit right into most lowcarb
plans, and with a few other slight modifications, they work for paleo
too...
