 From analysis of the bones of paleolithic man, confirmed by recent 
experience of some of us, food is raw fat meat.

The other stuff mentioned is called fodder, and those who eat it suffer 
the consequences which include food poisoning. Confirmed by ~12,000 
years of experience.
