the discussion group talk.politics.animals usually has a thread or two
going on the herbavore vs. omnivore question.  Omnivores dominate.  But, if
you visit, beware.  Though some very intelligent discussion is possible,
they do play rough on that group.  Protective gear is advised.  :-)
