Hi all,

I just wanted to say thanks for the suggestion regarding my mom's
headaches. After I read Don's post, I searched the archives of the
celiac/gluten-free list and boy was he right...tons and tons of anecdotal
mention of chronic headaches or migraines from gluten sensitivity. I only
looked at the first 100 hits that came up - copied and pasted the ones that
seemed most appropriate to her situation and gave them to her today. I also
loaned her my copy of Neanderthin.

I'm making progress with her - she loves trail mix, but rarely made it
because she thought it was too expensive. However, I found out she always
bought those little envelopes of nuts in the grocery store. Yikes - how to
go broke! So I went to one of the healthfood stores today, and for $20
bought a ton of stuff - walnuts, almonds, pecans, raw sunflower seeds,
dried figs, dates, apricots, pineapple, coconut, prunes, bananas, and
regular and golden raisins. For now, while she's reading the info I gave
her, I suggested she snack on these instead of frosted carrot muffins. She
said she didn't think that would be a problem :-)

So thanks again. I keep you posted on her progress.
