And where did she find any "native islanders" eating a traditional diet? LOL

FWIW, native Hawaiians were never hunter-gatherers but farmers/fishers.
There is a word for diabetes in the original language. Having lived in
Hawaii for four years I have yet to see a "native" eating a traditional
diet...

And there _are_ natives who are not fat.
