>No coffee? NO COFFEE?? How do you hide the halo?

Halo headaches are a common caffeine withdraw symptom.  Switching to a good black tea will lessen the pain considerably.  Black tea has been allowed to ferment to make the stimulants within it more bio-available.

Coffee, although not really from a bean, is really not paleo as the seeds of the coffee berries are not digestible nor the caffeine in them bio-available without roasting.  This roasting causes the starches contained in them to convert into acrylamides.  Acrylamides are the most common carcinogens found in human bodies.  Heavy coffee drinkers can get as much as 40% of their daily acrylamide load from their beverage of choice.  For a paleo person, who doesn't eat other common sources of acrylamides (such as grain and potatoes), coffee would be the major daily exposure to carcinogens.

And don't get me started on cafestrol.....
