You make such a good point here, Todd. Thanks for sharing this.


It seems if the child's condition is caused by poor diet, then paleo will
remedy it. Though I personally think that gluten and casein are poison to
all people, autistic or not. If the child's condition is caused by vaccine,
then homeopathy may offer the best help. (For those who don't know much
about homeopathy, it works similarly to vaccine. It is a similar principle,
curing or preventing a condition by giving a smaller-than-small dose of the
toxin to build resisitance). Mary, have you tried homeopathy? Zoe was
prescribed hyoscyamus niger by her N.D.(it's made from the same plant used
to make the IBS drug Levsin) to help with her fidgety-ness and plucking. It
helped her tremendously, though not immediately. I do think she reacted a
bit to the inert ingredients in the pills. She had a rash and was extremely
out of sorts. Getting past that fidgety-ness using homeopathy, I noticed
that she responded much better with her diet. We stopped apples, grapes,
tomatoes, and eggs for her. This helped tremendously. Plus we are giving her
rose hips tea (IMO, the best and most "paleo" vitamin C supplement) for it's
antihistamine effect.

I think that Zoe was having autism symptoms which were caused by her diet.
(My husband thinks that this isn't "real" autism.) She is doing SO MUCH
better now! She is interacting with me now. She even has been very social!
She played with our little neighbor the other day, and even went up to a
friend of mine who came to visit last week and climbed up into his lap! The
last time she saw him, she was about a year old and she screamed in terror
when he came in the house. She did this when anyone came into the house! But
last week, she was sharing her toys with people and actually spoke ot the
neighbor. We started noticing the change after she took her homeopathic
remedy. There are no uncontrollable bouts of rage anymore. She has come a
long, long way.

By the way, the little vial of hyoscyamus niger cost all of five bucks!
Unbelieveable!
