Forgive me for seeming flippant. It is not my intention at all. But seeing how the mortality rate remains at 100 percent, it seems to me the diet is always and forever a tradeoff.

I believe the ultimate human diet is one that is high fat, moderate protein, and very low carbohydrate for most of the year. It of course avoids all Neolithic foods and might healthfully involve limited low glycemic, high fiber carbohydrates in season.

Vary from that at your own risk. I do try hard to follow it but personally won't be giving up my Pinot noir -- or my occasional high carb treat for Halloween, Christmas, or my birthday. (And sometimes on vacation I will have the very Neolithic craft beer binge, even though I know it's something I will have to pay for later).
