Indeed. The two easiest ways to piss off today's Paleo dieters are to criticize yummy bacon to the LC Paleos or yummy fruits to the HC Paleos. People do not want to see anything negative about their favorite foods. If none of bacon & sausage or fruits were allowed, most Paleos probably would never have tried the diet. At least one or the other has to be allowed to garner a sizeable following.

Raw duck bacon is my personal favorite bacon, though even that is a bit too salty for me. I wish someone made smoked duck bacon without as much added salt, or that I was allowed to use a smoker at my condo development to make my own. I come close by sometimes air-drying thin-sliced duck breast (from which duck bacon is made). It just lacks the smoke flavor.
