Does anyone on the list have hyperinsulinemia? I have had symptoms of it
for a long time, probably caused by and perpetuated by SAD. Anyway, I was
wondering if anyone else had it because I'm trying to decide a ratio of
fat/protein/carbs to try that might ease my hunger and cravings.

Should I go for high fat to slow down metabolization? If so, what kinds of
fat? (I use butter and olive oil and fat from meats, but would like to add
coconut fats)

Or high protein and go into ketosis?

Or should I try moderate fat and more carbs in the form of veggies?

The Zone worked for me a couple of years ago to lose weight, but I found
that I was hungry a lot, and would eat lots more blocks per day than I was
supposed to. Can anyone hazard a guess why on some days I would have
terrible cravings for dense carbs like cake? Would hyperinsulinemia or
carb sensitivity cause these things? Of course, I was still eating bread
and cheese then. I want to try cutting out cheese now, but need something
filling to replace it that will fill me up as well.

It's not that I would view any suggestions as a hard, fast rule. But it
would be nice to have an idea as to what ratio to start with.
