Actually you have described two changes here. One is that you are improving
at the weightlifting and other is the addition of dairy.

The weightlifting may very well be an important factor. If your muscles are
growing in size and strength then they are also consuming more energy even
while at rest. Your basal metabolic rate may therefore have increased
because of the weightlifting, which could help explain the fat loss.
