 One of the most annyoing things that adds to the size and number of digest,
unnecessarily, is the fact that people seem to ignore this command:

LISTSERV COMMAND SUMMARY ---------------------

- Only quote what is absolutely essential, if anything, in your reply.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In so many posts the person leaves in (quotes) the entire previous message.
If you want people know what your post is about, use the subject line,
folks!  If a reader wants to know more, he or she can go to the archives to
read the previous message.

It would be less overwhelming for me and others to receive digests, and
might lead to a lower drop out rate, if the digests contained replies (using
the rule above) and less repeat messages, which no doubt fill the archives
unnecessarily.

My request is that more people who use this list will follow the rule above.
