Rosedale says most people need to consume 50-75 gms of protein a day in
15-20 gram increments at meals, which is what I've pretty much been doing
the last week and a half. A heavy friend pointed out to me that the
worksheet calculations for her show she needs 92 (or maybe it was 96 gms) of
protein a day. By her reasoning, someone who needs only 50-75 gms couldn't
be a very large person to begin with. I got my out my old Protein Power
book and calculated her weight (216) and lean body mass there and her
protein requirements came out to 59.5 gms (sedentary) to 71.4 gms
(moderately active). This falls right in the range that Rosedale suggests
up front. Has anybody else done the worksheet on p. 205 of the Rosedale
book and ended up with a higher than recommended number? Did she do the
math wrong? Should she eat in the 59-71 range or the 92 range?

Theola
