Hello, let me introduce myself. I've been lurking on this list for some =
time now and am very interested in this paleodiet, read the book in the =
meantime. But I would like to share some thoughts first. You were =
discussing low carb giving low insulin. I believe the last thought on =
that is that you can eat some carbs, as long as they are carbs who give =
a low G.I like barley, lentils and beans. A European diet is based on =
that called Montignac. It's perfect because so many foods are allowed, =
as long as the fats are eaten apart from the carbohydrates, so they =
can't be stored. The big advantage is that you don't become more =
insulinresistant than you already are, like on the complete low carb =
diets. I lost 33 lbs on this diet. Very slow but that didn't matter.=20
Now my question. At school I learnt that hunting animals always first =
eat the stomach of their pray. I suppose that the hunter gatherer did so =
to and came to eat some 'predigested' grains and maybe beans with a lot =
of fiber (gras) that way. That would also mean that these carbs had a =
very low Glyceamic index, supporting the ideas of Montignac. So maybe a =
small quantity of grains would be quite natural. =20
Could anyone comment on this? I wish you all good luck and I am =
convinced that this Paleodiet is much better than all the Kellogs-stuff =
that made America grow!
