Exactly how will an e-mail chain letter stop the Brazilian
government from proceeding with its plan?

I'd like to remind everyone that this deforestation is driven by
the worldwide -- and especially American -- demand for affordable
meat.  While we on this list may be, and should be, opposed to
the destruction of the rain forests, it is also true that we
promulgate a way of eating that, if widely accepted, would
significantly increase that demand.
