Yours truly, the indefatigable arguer, has been having an
interesting correspondence with Geoff Bond, the author of
_Natural Eating_. This book, as you may remember, argues for a
low-meat, low-fat (but not necessarily vegetarian) implementation
of paleodiet.

I'm finding this to be very interesting, in that Bond bases his
argument mainly on recent genetic studies concerning the ancestry
of modern humans. He dismisses the Neanderthal and Asian homo
erectus lineages as irrelevant and, to my surprise, has decent
scientific references in support of doing so (I'm not surprised
about the Neanderthal, since there are few scientists who still
think that they are ancestral to modern humans, but I am
surprised about the various homo erectus lineages).

Anyway, the debate is interesting, and is forcing me to do some
needed homework.
