Hello listers

Last night it was on tv that in the UK, where 70 deadly victims of CJD
fell, there had been a cover-up by the government.  In order not to
create panic amongst the public and keep sales of beef high, the
government agreed to present the dangers of eating BSE contaminated
beef
as low.  Also no real actions were taken to keep contaminated beef out
of the consumptionline.
Since in the early 60's a cannibal tribe in NewGuinnea had had 'Kuru'
(
CJD) it was well established how the disease occured and could be
prevented.  This phenomena was investigated and every decent
neurologist
ought to know about it.
Now if they are able to do this with something obviously and
immediately
dangerous, I think them capable of covering anything up that has
longer
term effects as well.
Sugar, preservatives, vacs, MSG, you name it.....
The minister of agriculture was on tv saying it had been an 'error'
of
them to try and keep it down!!!!!
People have accused me of being paranoid when I said that I think
governments and big corporations are able to do this. Well, all the
time
stories as this one emerge (though this is a real baddy) and it gives
me
better arguments to anyone asking me that we are indeed on the right
track with Paleo.
Even my son noticed that last night a program here in Holland on tv
had
an item about false information on foodlabels. By law it is a rule
that
everything must be specified on a label.  Well, research has shown
that
it hasn't.
Supermarket fruits contained far higher doses of pestcontrols that had
been sprayed on them than was allowed.  GMF were not always mentioned
and quantities of vitamines were misleading.
Since it is too expensive to buy only organic food and my garden is
too
small to grown everything myself I feel pretty much cheated.  What
gives
others the right to poison my world as well?
If they were to do it on their own piece it would be bad enough but
they
do it to us as well.  Wouldn't it be a thought to see if it is
possible
to sue them for polluting the world or something?  Call me naive, I
know
it wouldn't work, but it might confront more people with what is going
on.  Greenpeace is pretty busy already but a lot of people just don't
pay attention to their actions anymore.
If BSE can be covered up, a lot worse can be covered up even
better.....
