An older issue of the online Tufts University Health & Nutrition Letter
(Feb. 2002) reports on a study that found that fully 1/3 of 20 brands
of fish oil supplements they tested failed for adequate omega-3 fatty
acid content. The study was conducted by ConsumerLab.com, which Tufts
identifies as an independent company that evaluates dietary
supplements.

"What Do Fish Oil Supplements Lack? Fish Oil"

Among the brands that passed ConsumerLab's test was Carlson Super
Omega-3 Fish Oils, a brand that I recall many people on this list have
recommended. A partial list of other approved brands is at:
http://consumerlab.com/results/omega3.asp

Does anyone know if ConsumerLab.com is actually a reliable source for
identifying better brands of various dietary supplements?

Cheyenne
