Gregg,

I've been on a mostly meat diet for several months now. I don't know
if I'm "ketogenic," because I don't check with the "keto sticks" to
see. My wife tells me I haven't developed a ketogenic odor, so maybe
I'm not. A couple of things about my diet:

-- as someone else suggested, I've never felt better.
-- this "better" feeling isn't the same as smoking cigarettes (I've
quit that habit while on this diet!) or other abusive behavior. It's a
feeling of health, one I've never felt on any other diet.
-- I've lost close to eighty pounds on this diet in just a few months.
-- I began serious weight-lifting while on this diet and have seen
great results. The weight-lifting is almost addictive and contributes
to the feeling of well-being. It does slow the weight loss, as added
muscle counteracts the lost fat. Not that I care: I've gone from a size
52 pants to a size 44 while losing that 80 pounds. (I should be a size
36, I think, and about 100 pounds lighter.
-- I have only occasionally felt like the lack of carbs was interfering
with my weight-lifting. I started adding supplements to my diet, and
that oaccasional feeling went away.

I agree with another post that not everyone reacts the same to the
different diets. But for me, a meat-based diet has been a life saver.
