The strange thing is that I have been eating a high fat diet for some time
now. Haven't eaten grains on a regular basis since 2003 but I do suspect
bacterial overgrowth (the carb loving kind) due to cheating too often. I
have days when I eat way more fat than I did yesterday and it does nothing
to me. Then I have a day like yesterday and I am in agony. It is very
bizarre.

If I could tolerate tallow I would love to eat it every day. Actually, I
made some pemmican finally and LOVE it but have the same reaction to it as I
do to cooked beef of any kind. Very disappointing.

fat-eating ones. I started out just taking in whatever fats I could manage
to eat and considered healthy. I started with fish and flax and olive oil (I
later abandoned the flax and olive) and some chicken sausage that I figured
had some fat in it (it was just about the only sausage I could digest). I
tried coconut oil but it made me nauseous and I never got used to it so I
eventually gave up on it. I ate some fatty fish like sardines in water and
wild salmon, gradually increasing the amounts and trying to eat some of the
fatty salmon skin (which was very hard at first, but now I can do it). 

I found homemade tallow made from suet or marrow was easier to digest for me
than most of the other fats, so I gradually ate more and more of that. I
wasn't fond of it at first, but I eventually came to love it, just as some
famous explorers and other Paleo dieters said I would, though not all
apparently do. Now I'm trying to transition to the final step--eating most
of my animal fats raw. This is still not easy for me.

I went from a very lean diet to around 70-80% fat, depending on what I have
on hand and I feel tremendously better now. So it can be done.
