My first job out of undergrad was with an oil company doing refinery
instrumentation and electrical design. We would routinely have Saudi
citizens working there for training purposes. There was one particular
Saudi who decided to purge himself for Ramadam (sic?).

He drank olive oil.

He experienced bowel spasms.

He experienced severe bowel spasms.

He experienced very severe bowel spasms.

He evacuated his colon. Literally, the colon went inside out. He spent a
very painful spell in the hospital.

Having a tablespoon of flax oil now and then is not a problem, but I would
not recommend drinking oil.
