Probably. Most of our society is overweight (overfat).
But that doesn't mean the workers are not strong and
muscular. Especially when compared to the average desk
jockey.

How? Weight training should cause the muscle to become
even better at handling any lesser load placed against
it. For instance: I start out and can only lift 10
lbs. After progressing I can lift 100 lbs. At that
point, lifting 10 lbs should not be able to even
remotely stress the muscle. I can only see a muscle
loss problem if you did not go back to lifting 100
lbs.
