Here's what to watch out for:

There is something called paprika flour, that is a mix of paprika and wheat
flour. You probably won't find it, but it is sold institutionally, as it is
cheaper than pure paprika and it sticks to what they are trying to
decorate. So watch for this when eating out.

Any of the seasoning mixes may have MSG and "natural flavors." Spike is
well known for this.

I've been hit with Durkee's Chili powder. Now, on the ingredient list it
listed "spices," but under FDA regs this can not include HVP type
chemicals. So this one was illegal. Under USDA regs "spices" and
"seasonings" could include HVP, but I believe this has been changed.

So, you want to see that the ingredient list includes only real spices.

Don.
