Hi,

My 28 year old son is a type 1 diabetic. Has been since age 19. A type
1 diabetic no longer produces any insulin. In my sons case, they believe
a virus attacked his pancreas. A correct diet; adequate protein and fat,
low carbs and NO sugar, along with exercise makes life much easier and
can reduce the amt of insulin required, but he will always have to have
insulin. The latest thing on the horizon is inhalable insulin, which
might be a God send.

Betty
