It's interesting that "Peking man" also apparently ate (and
cooked) hackberry seeds.  Out of curiosity I did a search on
hackberry seeds and found the following interesting site,
concerning the hunter-gatherers of the American plains, who
coincidentally also ate hackberry seeds.
