Recent focus on CRP as an indicator of internal inflammation got me thinking. CRP levels in the blood are increasingly seen as highly correlative with congestive heart failure and atherosclerosis. These are seen more and more as internal inflammation, auto immune responses, perhaps to high insulin levels or "foreign proteins" or who knows what, but diet related I believe.

I can gauge my own inflammatory response by how a "cheat" affects me. Various bowel or asthma symptoms when I consume wheat or corn, for instance.

Well, when I work out with cardio it doesn't seem to affect these symptoms. But when I do intensive weightlifting, it does. Weight lifting seems to vastly reduce my body's response to cheat foods. That doesn't mean that I cheat more than usual, but it is a very interesting observation. Anyone have any thoughts around this and paleo eating?
