You are correct. I didn't know that Pennington was mentioned in "Good
Calories , Bad Calories." Anchell is restrictive in the types of carbs. He
doesn't have a very good explanation of why those carbs work. He is going
on clinical experience that they do work. My experience agrees with what he
writes.
His book was republished a few years ago as "HOW I LOST 36,000 POUNDs" it
is in pdf e-book format.

In my experience, part of the whole solution is to realize and deal with
addictive behavior and triggers. I react different to meat and nuts. I
will more likely overeat on nuts even though they are both "paleo". The
"binge" urge is usually on things that would have been seasonal or hard to
get for our ancestors (nuts, fruit, honey).

as Anchell's "The Steak Lover's Diet" is basically the same as the
Pennington diet that was used on the DuPont Executives.

If the above is all gibberish, read Good Calories, Bad Calories. :D

Three "moderate" portions of the allowed carbs is about 75g of carbohydrate
a day. The carbohydrate choice is to be taken as a second course - you're
supposed to mostly fill up on meat.

meat you want but very restricive in type of carbs you eat. It is good for
a couple of pounds a week, at least for awhile. I have his book in Pdf
format. Not all carbs the same in my experience.
