As a prescription for the overweight this may be fine, but generally I remain
unconvinced that a persons carbohydrate tolerance is independent of their age,
gender, size, body composition, activity level and energy intake. In their
essay on dietary discordance, Eaton and Eaton point out that people suffering
from sarcopenia exhibit a completely different insulin response to a
carbohydrate containing meal than people with an evolutionarily appropriate
body composition. This 'one size fits all' approach seems too simplistic.
