I couldn't tell you Ken, I am not a Dr,  but I know it helps me very much
with the leg pain that comes with Graves Disease.  I have seen charcoal
supplements for a stomach, low body discomfort.   Although I am more than
happy to hear or read up on anything someone may suggest in regards to
msm.
