Please consider the information in this article before consuming a
megadose
of vitamin C. Also, Mary Craddock mentioned green tea, which is
actually a
more powerful antioxidant than vitamin C and therefore a better choice
for
fighting infection and supporting immunity. Grapeseed extract is also
a
powerful antioxidant.

If you are going to use a vitamin C supplement (totally unnecessary
IMO if
you're eating plenty of whole, fresh foods) please check the label for
yucky
"inert" ingredients like sugar, coloring, artificial flavors,
lecithin, etc.

Remember that herbs and spices like garlic and ginger, cinnamon,
cardamon,
clove, etc. all discourage infection. Have a daily dose of some of
these, in
FOOD form, daily throughout the winter to ward off infection. Ginger
tea is
also great for digestion and cleansing.

I think that's why spices are so appealing in the cold months. Our
bodies
need warmth to fight infection, and if the weather is cold the spices
provide this warmth for us.

Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food.
Stacie,
who "never" gets sick. ;)
