that is ray decision . for simplification he just excluded all grains and
leguminous plants despite the fact that paleo peoples had acces to
leguminous plants ( the familly is big and go from tiny plants to big trees
like carob or tamarind )

peanut have the disavantage for european descendants to be native from
america but yes it  is edible raw ( and very good )
