I would be very reluctant to eat something like nutmeg in large amounts.
From what I understand many spices are quite toxic when taken in larger
amounts (by the teaspoonful, for instance). I know that cinnamon
certainly is.
I wonder if the "high" from nutmeg is actually a reaction to the toxins.
In effect a nutmeg overdose.
Herbs and spices are not to be "taken" lightly.
